Organization Description:

United Way of Central Carolinas Inc has a strong tradition of volunteer outreach and customized volunteer placement. Currently, there is a growing interest from other not-for-profits to strengthen their process of placing individuals on not-for-profit boards. This gives rise to the opportunity for a collaborative effort between the Arts & Science Council and the Foundation For The Carolinas and creates a tremendous opportunity to provide this region with a process for connecting nonprofit organizations seeking new board members with individuals who desire to serve in those leadership roles.

United Way of Central Carolinas, Inc. is a local and regional partnership of volunteers, donors, staff, agencies and people served, which raises and distributes funds and strives to strengthen community capacity and individual ability to care for one another.

United Way of Central Carolinas, Inc. is an autonomous organization that supports agencies and other service providers that serve individuals in Cabarrus, Mecklenburg and Union Counties and the Mooresville-Lake Norman area.

United Way of Central Carolinas is governed by a local board of directors made up of volunteers from these four communities. These volunteers, along with thousands of others, plan and organize the annual fundraising campaign, collect contributions, and determine how United Way’s Community Care Fund dollars should be distributed to service providers and agencies.
